Nexus Frontier
A self-hosted multiplayer colony sim with battles, timed contests and a proper admin console. Run your own server, own your own save files.
What it does
Your server, your save files, your uptime. A Cloudflare Tunnel is enough to publish it.
A shared persistent world where players compete as well as build.
Short competitive events — we cap ours at three days, which is the length that keeps people engaged rather than exhausted.
Grouped tabs for server resources, audit log, error log, database, security and word filtering.
Account info, player records and battle history, with admin, NPC and player roles.
Scheduled backups as a first-class tool rather than a cron job you forgot to write.
Nothing to install for the people joining you.
Multiplayer games die when the publisher turns the servers off. Self-hosted ones do not.
Nexus Frontier is a colony simulation built to run on hardware you control — ours sits on a Linux box behind a Cloudflare Tunnel, which is about as much infrastructure as it needs. Players build, fight and compete in timed contests; you get an admin console that treats running a game server as an actual job, with resource views, audit and error logs, database tools, security, a word filter, player and battle records, and scheduled backups.

Questions about this product
Is there a hosted option?
Not yet. Today you run the server yourself, which is rather the point.
How long should a contest run?
Three days is our answer. Longer than that and participation falls off a cliff.
